Pearl, Spike, and Smokey

I'm getting attached to this character. He's so CUUUUUUTE. And I'm adamant that Spike still has family out there....so here I introduce to you the Dragon Triplets: Pearl, Spike, and Smokey (originally Jasper, but that would've called for him to be red...)

Not really sure how the story would get going, but I would assume at some point Spike runs off for one reason or another and - in his travels - comes across a dragon community, perhaps somewhere in a dormant volcano. And he eventually learns that not all dragons are the brutes he's met thus far. And who should be there but his own family! Siblings and all! Mom and Dad Dragon have their own roles in the community, so most of the dragonlings time is spent with each other. Spike gets along pretty well with both of his siblings, but it's little Pearl who really is to one to take him under her proverbial wing and shows him the ways of the dragon community. Smokey is the brash, rough and tumble kid.

I haven't exactly figured out what their parents look like, but I assume that the mother is fairly gentle (for a dragon) and dedicated to her family, and their father a brash and fierce protector - traits of both parents moderately evident in Spike's personality. Which most likely makes for hi-larious hijinks when the ponies eventually come looking for Spike, and Daddy Dragon doesn't get that they mean no harm to his cub.

For the record, I realized the coloring I came up with for Pearl and Mom Dragon was a bit reminiscent of Rarity. But hey, isn't there some kind of psychological theory that men will look for a woman that reminds them of their mother? And vice versa with girls and their dads?
