Clinton and Ollie Cubs - Gift

Giftart for of her webcomic "Acting Out". If anyone out there doesn't know who these guys are, please let me inform you.

I actually have my friend to thank for referring me to this webcomic, it's just such a blast to read. It's funny, clean, adorable, and the characters are just awesome - especially these two. Mind you, this is not how they appear in the comic, I just wanted to draw them as lil' guys. I don't know exactly how long Clinton and Ollie have known each other and been friends, but this is just too cute of an image to ignore. And even if they haven't know each other this long, maybe they just ran into each other in the park or something at one point and didn't know it. And with fall in full swing, how could I resist leaf-hunting.

I have to say I find these guys' relationship amusing to witness. They're total opposites, and that always make the best duos. Ollie (the cheetah to the right) definitely pulls his weight in the friendship a lot more than red panda Clinton over there. Clinton does seem to take advantage of his loyalty, but here's the thing - he's conceited and always wants to be the center of attention, yet he's not so concerned about his image that he's afraid of being seen hanging out so much with Ollie, who is - in the artist's own words - "not the smartest thespian". There's something to be said for it when characters like these are best friends, it makes for some great dialogue and situations.

In a weird way, Ollie and Clinton actually kinda remind me of Cory and Shawn from Boy Meets World. Anyone remember them?

I hope I did your characters justice, Casper. (That's your nickname, right?) I tried to mix in both your style and mine, really reffed that one pic of little Clinton in one of your comics, and the idea of overalls was too cute to pass up. I think I'm most proud of how Ollie came out. Keep up the awesome work!!
