96 - Fei Breaks the News

100 theme challenge #96 - "Morning"



The flaxen glow of the sun filtered through the window earlier than usual that morning. Her jade green eyes fluttered open and suddenly Fei remembered what she had found out yesterday... She had been with Sumi - her best friend - when the doctor had told her.

A slight snore caused her to glance over at her snoozing husband lying next to her. Black ear twitching.... Bed head... How could that be so adorable? She almost didn't want to wake him with the news just yet, but...

Taking a deep breath, she edged closer to him and draped an arm over his shoulder. She laid her head beside his and lovingly nuzzled him underneath the ear. "...Chang?"

"Mm..." came the subconscious reply.

"Chang, sweetie..."

He was out like a rock. Training at the Jade Palace had obviously been rigorous as of late, and it seemed that both Chang and his brother - Kasem - came home and dropped to bed like boulders.

With what she was about to tell him, Fei felt her heart swell with a joyful pride. What she had dreamed of for the longest time was finally coming true...

"Chang, wu ai..." she whispered. "...You're going to be a baba."



And now Chang is going to have a heart attack.

I was inspired to draw a Chang/Fei version of this cute little picture here: [link] Not too thrilled with how Fei turned out, though..... She's tough to recreate. I tried to do foreshortening with her upper forearm, but O think it's safe to say that was an epic fail. I love how Chang came out, though. That's a wake-up call, hey?

For those of you who don't know already, these are Po's parents (OCs of mine) - Chang and Fei.
