100 theme challenge #27 - "War"
Oooooh, I love when Koto gets in his "Back off" mood. This really just came from wanting to see a KFP red panda in a more animal-ish pose. In the movie, Tigress and Tai Lung and Vachir AND Monkey all made noises natural of their breed, specifically when they're mad. Why wouldn't the red pandas be any different?
So what we see here is the day back when Shifu was but a toddler when the Valley was ambushed and wrecked by Mongol Golden Eagles, and his mother - Lady Kuan Yin - was one of the fatalities. She fell prey to the talons of this guy - Mongol Golden Eagle leader Lie Hong. Moments before the horrifying moment, we have this moment of Koto bristling and arching and snarling at the eagle leader while Yin makes a getaway with Shifu.
This is really one of the few times I have tried to draw an Eagle. Golden eagles are slightly different from bald eagles in that they have entirely brown plumage. Also, you can't really tell from this, but the tip of his beak is gold-plated.
Oh, yeah - this is under "War" because in the scenario, Koto and the General actually rally the troops together to fight the Eagles, and this is pretty much the battle in a nutshell. Koto uses a sword and a bow-and-arrow and everything. Tee-hee.

Critique, wheeeee~
This looks very good, especially for a sketch! I like the story behind the drawing and you really portrayed the emotions well. The mood of the scene is very clear!
Only a few things I think could be changed. First off, the buildings could use more detail (of course, it's not necessary in a sketch!) Second, there's a couple errors in the eagle's anatomy. The wing looks a bit funny, like it's folded weird, and the back talon doesn't seem right. Other than that, this is a really nice picture! I hope you plan on finishing this, it's fantastic~
